PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) injections have been used to treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions for years and are now becoming one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the dermatological world. PRP can be delivered into the skin in a variety of ways, namely by direct injection by needle or cannula or via microneedling. When injected into specific areas of the skin, platelet rich plasma promotes the growth of your own collagen to regenerate healthy tissue, where it acts naturally to smooth and tighten the skin, creating healthier and younger-looking skin with improved texture and more even tone.
The Eclipse PRP® System is a proprietary system that allows for the ideal preparation of the patient’s own pure PRP with optimal platelet concentrations and cellular content for injection. Dr. Linda Honet delivers the PRP in several ways, namely via microneedling (see Microneedling above), injection, or cannula delivery, and will select the optimal delivery modality for each patient and the skin need. Although PRP is the ideal anti-aging treatment for those who prefer their own natural powers of rejuvenation, it is also an effective treatment for hair loss and hair thinning. When utilized in combination with other treatments, the patient’s own plasma harnesses additional rejuvenation and regenerative mechanisms of increased collagen production and healing within the skin that otherwise would be untapped.
