At Honet Dermatology/Cosmetic, we often talk and think about skin care products—what we love, why we love them, and why some just leave us saying, “meh”. We talk about them among ourselves and we talk about them to patients. Although taking care of skin is our job, each and every one of us is actually a little bit obsessed about makeup and obsessive about taking care of our own skin and making our skin look the best it can be. We sell a lot of products in the office and we use them, too. But the following is a list of skin care or beauty items that we can’t live without—the stranded-on-a-deserted-island kind, the can’t-live-without kind.

“The application for this eye makeup remover is so precise. It’s a gentle formula that takes off eye makeup very well, while conditioning the skin around the eye area. This eye makeup remover was a pioneer in 1969, way ahead of its time, and is still a cult favorite after almost five decades. I will never ever give this one up.”

“I’ve been using this cleanser for years. It’s my first step to removing my makeup, and it doesn’t sting the eyes. I often use it with my Clarisonic because it is so gentle. And it rinses off completely and easily. Then I follow with Lancome’s Bi-Facil to remove traces of eye makeup and then cleanse again with Restorsea Revivng Cleanser. Yes, believe it or not, I do have 3 steps to my cleansing routine every night.“

“This is an amazing lipstick line and it’s great for sensitive skin. I’m allergic to many other prestige cosmetic lines, but not to this one. The lipstick is deeply moisturizing, and there are so many options for colors and finishes. I am especially partial to the Laura Mercier Stickgloss Lip Colour in Courtesan. This is the one I wear everyday.“
